the cars behind the man....

Another post I'm migrating over from myspace.

OK, another eventless day in Delta Junction. I've often wondered how many cars I've owned. If anyone asks I usually guess around 50, but I'm afraid that may be a bit exagerated. Since I've got a family my car hobby has taken a serious degradation in priority. SO, since I have nothing better to do I'm gonna try to list my vehicles, starting at the begining.

1. '84 chevy citation, kinda a loaner from dad
2. '78 Oldsmobile Tornado, another loaner
3. '80 mercury Capri (just like a mustang) First car I actually bought, I was 16. it was a 4cyl car but it was red and looked cool.
4. '79 El Camino.
My first 350 4spd car. cool! Clutch was out in about a week.
5. '80 Chevy C10 2x stepside pickup. 250 I-6 and 3 on the tree. This was in 1990 and cruisin in trucks was taking off across the nation. This one was a custom removable hardtop along with house speakers in the bed. Got alot of attention, my friends all made fun of me. Girls liked it.
6. '70 k20 4x long bed 4spd got it as partial payment for working for my uncle for the summer. Timing chain went out after a month, wasn't worth enough to fix.
7. '83 mercury capri, this time it was a 302/5spd car. no title, looked like a reconstruct. Bought it for $200, drove it a weekend and blew the motor. Had fun watching it bounce down a cliff.
8. '71 GMC Jimmy 4x full removable top and 4x, some fun. rusty but had a cool full cage.
9. '80 Z28 camaro t-tops, 350/4spd car, my first reasonably fast car that lasted a while.
9.5. 80' cutlass I bought with a friend in Seattle for my 'Epic Road Trip' back in the 90's.
10. '84 jeep j-20 blue tank w/ 360. Had what looked to be dumptruck rear springs.
11. '82 Rx7, fun little sports car that eventually became my first race car.
12. '77 c-10 2x PU w/ 454. Really good at burnouts and donuts.
13. '86 MR-2 sporty little red job, underpowered
14. '66 baja bug. bought kinda on accident at a car auction. swapped the motor first night I had it. introduced me to the fun of the bug and german autos
15. '93 suzuki dr350s, first motorcycle, street legal motorcross fun.

16. '72 K5 blazer. First serious 4x I ever built. 6" lift, 35's, 4.56 +auburn in the rear, holley projection, kayline softtop. Fun.

17. '78 CJ-5 what a rust bucket but it ran and drove great. Swapped tubs, 5-6" lift, SRS, 35's, 8000 winch, locker, frame finally rusted in half.
18. '76 BMW 535 or something like that.
19. '84 (I think) kawasaki ninja 900. I only owned that one for a day. even I could tell I shouldn't be driving that devil speed machine.
20. '69 J4000. old. dunno why I had that thing.
21. '73 chevy k3500 flatbed. Good work/trash truck. Bought it for the winch and sold it without a loss
22. '84 CJ-7. Owned for a day, made $500.
23. '84 wagoneer bought for $100. $50 water pump, $50 fan, 2x $1 bolts, sold for $2500. Sweet! had it less than a week.
24. '83 CJ-7. Jeep I bought and built after I knew how to build jeeps. 4.56 gears, locked up @ both ends, 8000# winch, SOA, 36's about a dozen other mods. Cool jeep, would go almost anywhere. It's still on aussielocker.com's home page.
25. '88 cherokee built as a driver when my CJ7 became more off-road than on-road ( read - couldn't afford to replace tires every year). 4.5" lift & 32's, fun ride.
26. '89 Cherokee built to replace high mileage 88 cherokee. ARB/OME 2.5" lift and 31's, ARB bullbar. Really nice driver.
27. '97 Wrangler cool...  jeeps finally making a rig worth owning again! My best work yet, 6" lift, lockers, D44, 35's, 8000# winch. Got this one into JP magazine, Fourwheeler Magazine, and the Warn promotional ads and Catalog.
28. '91 Chevy K1500 w/ cabover camper. A concession I made for the woman, it was never big enough for us with 4 kids.
29. '99 F350 V10, big purple truck I bought from Ed, pretty cool. Full compliment of Banks Power stuff, 6" RCD lift, 38's, 4.88 gears, Safari Guard Bumper, fast and fun!
30. '72 Datsun 240z, triple carbs, headers, factory roll bar, fender flares, mean little black machine.
31. '76 CJ5 4" lift, 33's and a 360, scary to drive but loud and fun!
32. '94 Suzuki DR350se Liked the first one so much I got another.
33. '73 SuperBeetle. Not nearly as cool as my '66.
34. '00 F350 7.3 CrewCab Current truck, good puller. 120hp chip and an exhaust really wakes these things up! BB turbo, GV overdrive, airbags etc...
35. '81 Toyota sr5 4x pickup, bought it for the kids to learn how to drive. Thats another story....
36. '95 240sx cool little car I picked up as a drive to work car. Dream of putting a turbo in it but then won't be legal to drive year round. Darn.

37. '89 mustang, built to the American Iron race series specs. Way Fun car! 13" baers stop it, 12" race rubber all around, Maximuim Motorsports suspension, full cage, many busted transmisions. Won alot of races and still one of my favorite cars.
38. '91 VW GTi. Fun in the summer, not my thing in the winter.
39. '97 Rover Discovery 3" lift, roof rack, 34" LTB's, nice camping rig. Leather seats and 4 doors makes wheeling Comfy!
40. 1987 Samurai I bought for my kids. Another thing they screwed up.
41. '97 TJ, currie 9" axles, atlas tcase, RE longarm, 4.88 gears, arb/detroit, champion beadlocks, 37" irocs/boggers, 8274-50, 99 other mods. Simply amazing.
42. '84 Toyota Supra I bought to ice-race.
 43. '92 Subaru Legacy Turbo I bought to replace the GTi as a daily driver and icerace/rallycross. Awesome. I won most races I entered.
44. '96 Discovery, 4.88 gears, 5" SG 3 link, cut fenders, detroit/trutrac. 38" TSL's, 8274-50 and 99 more mods....

45. '97 Cabrio, top down and 30+ mpg for the island. Fun to drive and easy to park.

46. '98 Jetta for the wife.
47. '90 Samurai, 1.6l, ARB/spool, m8000, 4link/coils, 33" LTB's on beadlocks.
49. '86 VW Syncro, bought for my next 'Epic Road Trip'. Currently getting an engine from a 2009 subaru installed in it, will hopefully be the source of many new stories!
